The AIBE exam or All India Bar Examination is recognized as the national entrance exam in India. The examination evaluates the candidates who are capable of practicing law in India. AIBE is held twice per year, at the beginning of May and in September. Since passing a certification test, receipt of a certificate for the legal profession is issued. AIBE is kept in 11 separate languages and is also an open-book test.
The AIBE 2021 has been postponed. The examination will now be conducted this coming Monday. The deadline to apply for the next test has also been extended until March 22, 2021. The AIBE XVI registration deadline is April 10. AIBE, short for the All India Bar Examination, is a test administered by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The All India Bar Exam is designed to evaluate advocates’ capabilities for practicing law in India. The test is administered twice a year by BCI. AIBE exam is the qualifying test for attaining a license to become a practicing lawyer.

Before AIBE XV, the exam was an open-book review. The test will no longer be an open-book exam as of AIBE XVI. From AIBE 2021 onwards, the BCI has issued an official notice specifying that no books, notes, or research material would be permitted in the examination space. Candidates would be able to bear their Bare Acts without any notes with them.
Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu are the eleven national languages in which applicants may take the test. While it is not necessary for a law graduate to take the AIBE, passing the exam is required in order to practice law around the world. Even without taking AIBE, a law graduate will practice law in his or her own state. Candidates will apply for AIBE an unlimited amount of times, and after passing the test, the Bar Council of India (BCI) may grant them a “Certificate of Practise.”

Eligibility Criteria for the AIBE Exam
